Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American Sportcaster. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since the age nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first job as a production assistant for Univision in Miami where she had the opportunity to interact with producers of national television shows including Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS channel of St. Petersburg hired her after this as reporters for sports. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories on immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as a reporter on five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for news at 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English in addition to reporting for the 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. In the past, they relocated to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. Her older sister is also hers. In 1992, the family relocated from Mexico and relocated to Miami. In 1992, her parents separated soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. The break in summer that she spent with her sister and her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten work. A senior in high school and yet knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta was able to visit the University of Mount Union to see if it would meet her preferences. The result was that she loved the school and they were offering the major she was looking for. When she completed her high school studies, she entered the University to pursue media studies. They developed a lasting relationship with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the manager for WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm about journalism. The professor also had a profound impact on her.
