Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress from America. She is known for her roles in film and television in the 1980s, she's won numerous awards such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett originates from New York New York. Her home was Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett as well as her younger sister aged five, old, made the move away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the separated father. Bassett was inspired to become an actress after she saw the play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. In 1980, Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale, and in 1997 they tied the knot. Qualification: B.A. at Yale's School of Drama. granted an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Basssett in 1980.
